Objectives

Students will be able to explain the traits/features of the Inca culture and how they responded to their environment in order to develop their massive civilization.

Success criteria:

  • (Today I will…) I will examine artifacts from the Inca unit
  • (So that, I...) expand my understanding of the Inca with artifacts to better help me understand how the Inca used items from their environment to help shape their civilization.
  • (I will know I understand it when…) I can compare and contrast the ancient cultures of the Maya, Aztec, and Inca, and why each culture used their environment to build great civilizations.
  • CITIZENSHIP VALUE– I will appreciate the value of studying history as a way of enriching our awareness of the past and understanding our present.

DOG- In your spirals- write out why we ‘Spring Forward” with our clocks!  Then, state your position on is this something we should keep or do away with!  Be prepared to share out!

Inca Test on Monday and Tuesday- study the textbook, notes in spirals and slideshow of Development of the Inca Empire and the Achievements of the Incas- all of these resources will help with the assessment!!
