OBJECTIVES

Students will be able to  use grade level vocabulary to understand the four hemispheres of the earth and the continents and oceans located in each.

Success criteria:

• (Today I will…)be able to define, find an image and synonyms for geoterms
• (So that, I can...)can use correct terms in 6th grade SS in the labs and discussions.
• (I will know I understand it when…) I can find tier 1 and tier 2 words that mean about the same thing as the geoterm.

CLASSWORK

WARM-UP:  Is the Arctic Ocean in the Northern hemisphere or the Southern hemisphere?

*If you have not completed the assignment from yesterday, (1.6 Hemispheres -Vocab and Questions) please work on that while I take attendance!!

• Go over -Hemispheres, Continents and Oceans – vocab and questions-Schoology
• Read over 1.6 Geo Alive
• Mr. Genco video/textbook reading

• ***Handbook submission forms!! To get there-Go to Schoology and click on the BACK TO SCHOOL folder and click on the Link for the Handbook submission

*If you were absent last Friday, please log in to Schoology and take the Geoterm Vocab quiz- in the Geography folder
